I love film and I really appreciate when I have the opportunity to completely immerse myself in the world of the narrative.
After doing my Masters of Marketing Communications I began to appreciate how marketing isn’t just about selling a film, it’s about the whole process of communication to the audience.
The Web 2.0 environment has provided the opportunity to expand narratives where they were previously confined to a film reel. The audience isn’t a separate entity from the process, they can interact with it. They also create their own material, either promoting what they love or tearing down their disappointments.
I find it intriguing how filmmakers can no longer hide from their audience and how this effects the experience as a whole.
My history in the Australian entertainment industry has informed my work when understanding marketing communications in an academic, business and entertainment context. This site and blog is my outlet for exploration with this.
